Integration of a 3D scanner with ultrasonic sensors and a mobile application for visualization of three-dimensional models
Main Article Content
Abstract
3D printing is a recent process that has revolutionized different areas of everyday life. Tasks traditionally performed by computers are available on smartphones. In this article, we propose a mobile application with a Bluetooth interface that allows obtaining a three-dimensional model of a 3D scanner made with common elements, such as an AT-Mega 2560 and the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, in addition to the motors required for the movement of the rotating base and the ultrasonic sensor. The application allows to the user to visualize the model through the OpenGL ES library, and to control the scanning process. We report a working prototype that allows to the user to generate and visualize 3D models of simple objects.
