Abstract

Crystals of the compounds 8.10-Dimethyl-6-phenyl5, 7-dioxa-11-aza-6-bora-benzociclononeno (BE-1), 2-chloro-8 ,10-dimethyl-6-phenyl-5 ,7-dioxa-11-aza-6- bora-benzocicloneno (BE -2) and 3-Nitro-8 ,10-dimethil6-phenil-5 ,7-dioxa-11-aza-6-bora-benzociclonone (BE-3) were obtained from the slow evaporation of a chloroform solution. X-ray diffraction confirmed the molecular structure and the non-centrosymmetric packing of the crystals. Thermal analysis was carried out by the techniques thermo gravimetric and differential thermal. Moreover, absorption spectroscopy UV-visible, infrared and photoluminescent were applied to the linear optical characterization, whereas the second harmonic generation allowed the characterization of the nonlinear optical organic crystals.
