General theory of GPR systems
Main Article Content
Abstract
Ground penetration radar (GPR by its acronym in English) provides a method for non-destructive and noninvasive ground investigation, which offers efficient exploration work, mainly in the field of civil construction, forensics, archeology, among others. This article refers to the basic theory of GPR systems for buried object detection. We present briefly the history of the GPR system, its basic components and operation, and the influence of material characteristics in propagation and frequency detection depth of energy reflected from the edges of objects buried.
