Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic forced students to take their classes online. Although it is true that it helped reduce the contagion levels of this disease, it caused serious damage to the education and emotional state of millions of students, not only in Mexico, but throughout the world. This article presents the results obtained from a study conducted on students just entering high school. The purpose of this work was mainly to analyze the conditions in which the students took their online classes, the impacts on their emotional state, as well as on the family economy. The qualitative perception of the students about their levels of learning acquired in both stages: online and face-to-face, was also analyzed. The results of this study will serve teachers and educational authorities to establish strategies to reduce the impacts of confinement, not only in terms of educational lag, but also in the emotional part of young people.
