Development of a computational application to evaluate the effect of two types of insulin in an adolescent with type 1 diabetes mellitus
Main Article Content
Abstract
The development of computational systems or applications for disease evaluation is an idea that has recently gained attention within the scientific community. This manuscript introduces an application designed to assess the effects of Lispro and Glargine insulin types, on an T1DM adolescent, who used a FreeStyle sensor during a 14-day experimentation period. The action of both insulins is estimated through the programming of pharmacokinetic profiles using their respective dynamic mathematical models. The application extracts information from a database to generate graphs representing six essential variables. Beyond serving as a valuable tool for T1DM individuals, this application seeks to be a strategic tool for medical specialists in decision-making regarding T1DM treatment.
