Abstract

In this paper are shown the necessary steps to design controllers using variable structure techniques, specifically sliding-mode. The peculiarity of this technique is the use of the sign function. There are complications (chattering) due to the character’s sign function (frequency and amplitude), approaches are presented and guaranteed by the application in an under-actuated system. Simulations and implementations are shown.
